I have been a participating member of the Pueblo of San Ildefonso my entire life. I left the
Pueblo briefly to purse my education in Environmental Science
and Range Management. I currently reside on the Pueblo with
my wife and three energetic sons.
I joined the Pueblo’s Department
of Environmental and Cultural
Preservation (DECP) in May of
2002, taking on the position of
Tribal Risk Assessment Technician. In 2013, I was designated
the Interim Director of DECP,
with the positive support of an
excellent and well-rounded staff I
quickly transitioned to the role of
Director.
I enjoy having the opportunity to continuously learn
and grow in this capacity. DECP
has and will continue to encourage continued education and
training for staff in this quickly
developing field. DECP has engaged with community members
and youth to increase environment awareness and education.
We will proudly continue to support the Pueblo’s administration
and community through the work
and services we provide.
Eric Archuleta is the Database
Manager for DECP and works
to create and populate
the database that holds
environmental analysis
result data.
Eric believes the storage and
analysis of San Ildefonso environmental data is an absolute neces-
sary function required to truly understand the current state of
Pueblo's environment and challenges it is facing.
Eric has built the environmental
data warehouse up from scratch
and has worked hard to populate
the database with environmental
data not only from San Ildefonso
but also data from the New Mexico
Environment Department and
LANL. He has written various type of software around
the database that enable his colleagues to
access and make
sense of all the data
held in the DECP environmental
database.
Eric has worked in the software development and database field for
over for over 25 years. Eric started
off writing GIS utilities and programming modules then went on to write
complex and robust software systems dealing with extremely large
Genomic databases.

Hi my name is Darryl Martinez and I’m from San Ildefonso Pueblo, I recently moved to the Environmental Department as the Water Quality Tech.
I worked in the Maintenance field for many years and also in the cultural re-source field coming from Bandelier National Monument, I recently left from being the Facilities Manager for the Pueblo where I managed daily operations on keeping a safe working environment for employees and took care of build-ing repairs, waste water operations and water operations. I am a certified water operator through EPA and held this position for 7 years providing safe drink-ing water for the tribe and by following all standards through the Safe drink-ing water act and standards through state of New Mexico.
I would like to continue working in monitoring our environment with issues in water and air and keeping our natural resources safe for the future. I would also like to say my office is always open if you have any questions.

My name is Nick Hanser and I am a new hire to the Pueblo de San Ildefanso. I was hired to take on the role of GIS/GPS specialist and I am excited to begin work with the Pueblo. I am initially from Western Montana but have spent the last four years going to college in Salt Lake City and very recently moved to Santa Fe.
I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy fishing, running, rock climbing and gardening. These interests have always brought me close to the natural world and have sparked a curiosity for the preservation of our natural resources. The setting of the work presents interesting challenges that I will be eager to take on and I am appreciative of the opportunity to do so.
Hello my name is Thomas Martinez, I am from the Pueblo de San Ildefonso and I have been recently hired to work for the Department of Environment and Culture Resources as an Environment Technician Assistant. I previously worked as a Gate Monitor in the Pueblo.
I worked many years in the construction, but always had a passion for Natural Resource Management. Working with DECP will provide me the opportunities to continue my passion for the Natural Resource field and helping the pueblo with environment issues that we are challenged with being next Los Alamos National Laboratory
I look forward in working for the community. May we continue to grow and enjoy our Pueblo Natural Resources together.

Hello, my name is Erin Y. Martinez. I am
the Office Administrator for the Depart-
ment of Environmental and Cultural
Preservation and have been working
with the department for nine years.
I started DECP as an administrative assis-
tant but since then I have been given the
opportunity to become more involved
with the program. I have been able to
expand my knowledge of grants man-
agement and I am learning how DECP’s
environmental monitoring of the bounda-
ries are important especially with the
proximity of the Los Alamos National
Laboratories.
I have the responsibility of providing pro-
gram coordination as well as administra-
tive support for all of DECP’s grants.
Currently DECP has five grants that sup-
port and contribute to the programs suc-
cess from the Department of Energy
(DOE) and the Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA).
I assist in the administration of grant pro-
posals and budget preparation; maintain
copies of all applicable records, creating
quarterly newsletters, correspondence
and reports; maintaining financial re-
cords system for each program and rec-
onciling them with Tribal Accounting De-
partment.
I help ensure the programs within DECP
complies with federal standards, Tribal
policies and procedures, and general
